This play is tushd on real eventswhich occurred in 1692.The Crucible is saying that in Salemat this time there is very pifflingjustice, this is shown when oblige says Goody Proctor, I have gone thisthree month wish well our lord into the wilderness. I have sought aChristian way, for damnations doubled on a minister who counsels mento lie.In this Hale is saying that he no longer follows the beliefs of Salemand he straig ht off follows the beliefs of Christianity.Justice is conveyed in Arthur Millers The Crucible by having acharacter like Hale, who comes into Salem as a man who stronglybelieves that accusing and intermission people because of witchcraft isright and just, but he later realizes that what he believes is wrongand unjust. He then decides to change his ways.to a fault at the ending of Act 1, there are many quick accusations being dowhich leaves the reader in suspense and a long wanting to bop whatwill happen to all these people who were accused. The leaders of Salem believe that what they are doing is right andjust, but in reality it is an injustice. This is how justice can oftenmask injustice.Justice often being masked by an injustice can also be seen in thetext Justice without a Conscience. This text is showing a statue ofLady Justice, who usually represents, Anti-discrimination, fairnessand justice, is now representing discrimination, unfairness andinjustice by the statue not wearin g a blindfold which allows her to bediscriminative against people, her scales are unbalanced which wouldmake things unfair. Also the blindfold is pulled over her mouthstopping her from speaking which represents that justice is not alwaysheard. There is a man passed out at the base of the statue. This is using ahigh angle shot to show that the man is very insignificant and ladyjustice is large and very important. other text which shows justice being masked by an injustice is acartoon where an upper class man has just shot a woman, killing her.
